Orders

Can I change or cancel my order?

Unfortunately we cannot change or cancel your order after you have placed it. Once received you may return via our returns process outlined below.

Can you exchange items?

Unfortunately, we cannot offer exchanges. If you need a different size or color of an item, you will need to place a new order and return the item that does not fit. If you order the same model again in a different color or size, we can ensure that you can keep any discount that may have been granted on the original order. The returned item will be refunded as soon as it arrives at our warehouse.

MY PROMO CODE DOES NOT WORK

Some codes may:
• Require you to Login or Checkout as a guest;
• Have a minimum spend;
• Have been redeemed already;
• Not be valid on certain items;
• Have expired;
• Have been misspelt.

Shipping & Returns

WHERE IS MY ORDER?

If your purchase has not arrived within the prescribed shipping time, check your e-mail as it is likely that you have received a notification informing you that the order has left our warehouse, or there may be an issue with your order.

Keep in mind that during sale periods and promotions, delivery dates may be longer. Please contact us if you have any concerns.

MY ORDER COULDN'T BE DELIVERED

Any additional shipping fees that occur as a result of the order being returned to us due to an incorrect address, failure to collect from local courier location or unpaid import fees will be deducted from the order refund amount on return.

*Excludes public holidays. Also during sale/promotional or seasonal events, delivery may be longer than specified times. For Optical orders please allow an additional 1-2 weeks for the frames to be fitted with your prescription lenses.

All orders that qualify for free shipping are sent with tracking and delivery confirmations and will be delivered with ATL (Authority to leave). 

For Optical orders please allow 10 additional working days for the item to be sent to our lab and back again.

Will I be charged import fees and duties?

All international shipments include import fees and duties on checkout, as payable by the customer. You will not be charged any additional fees for your delivery to what you have paid at checkout, allowing for a seamless delivery.

How do I return my order?

Please contact us at returns@shadefiles.com within 7 days of receiving your order providing your order number and brief explanation of your return/exchange. We will then issue you with a Returns Authorisation Number (RA#).

All items are to be returned within 14 days from the date of issue of your RA#.

Items received after the 14-day time frame will be assessed at our discretion.

Items returned without an RA# will not be accepted and will be returned at your expense.

If you need to return an item, for security and peace of mind, we recommend that you use an insured registered post as we are not liable for any lost returned items.

MY FRAMES BROKE, CAN I GET A REFUND?

Shade Files does not take responsibility for any frames broken by the user. If an item arrives faulty you may apply for a refund or exchange by contacting us here.

Please note that any faulty items need to be returned within 7 days of the item arriving.

What is considered a personal effect of wear and tear?

A common effect of wear and tear is sunglasses breaking in bags without storing them in cases or mis-use. This effect of wear and tear is usually irreversible thus we recommend when purchasing Shade Files products that you seek care advice from our Shade Files staff members.

Optical

How do I order prescription lenses online?

Simply add the frame to cart that you wish to have prescription lenses fitted, then either click 'start prescription process' on the product page or you can start the process here.

How long do optical orders take?

We advise 1-2 weeks to dispense your lenses plus your estimated shipping time. Most orders are dispensed in a week, but we always advise 1-2 weeks in case our lab gets really busy!

Can I add prescription lenses to any frame?

Almost! All brands apart from Szade can have prescription lenses fitted.

I have a high script, can I still order online?

We offer a range of lens index's to suit a variety of scripts. If you have a high script it is always best to consult with one of our dispensers here, to ensure you've selected the best possible lens and extras for your particular script. If ordering online we advise all high script customers to select the advised lens index for your script and add anti glare protection as it will help enhance your visual comfort.

What if my script is invalid?

Eye health changes over time, so we advise using a valid script for all prescription orders.

Do you offer progressive lenses?

Yes absolutely we offer progressive lenses, but these are only available when shopping in-store as we need to take your lens height measurements which cannot be done online.

How do I claim my Health Fund Rebate with my online order?

We send all our online customers an itemised invoice via email that includes our provider numbers and item codes for you to make your claim. For more info regarding health funds see this page here.

Account

Do I have to create an account to order?

No it's not mandatory. But it is highly recommended. Indeed, it will allow you to find your history, edit your addresses and track your parcel online faster. You will also be notified of new products and members only promotions.

Do you save my bank details?

Absolutely not. We never have access to this information. It is the company Stripe that deals with it. Your data is completely safe.

Payment

What types of payments do you accept?

We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express cards. Alternatively, you can finalize your order with buy now pay later payment providers such as Afterpay, Zip and Klarna.
